The optics shipped and arrived very quickly with prompt and quality customer service. Scope seems solidly built, the flathead/coin slot on the battery cap is greatly appreciated. Was easy to zero and the zero stop worked as intended as well as magnification and parallax. The reticle does not get near daylight bright, so the illumination is not useful unless you’re shooting at dusk or maybe in a dim forest.
Q1: How high should my scope rings be? Is higher or lower better?
A: The objective lens size influences the scope ring height. You will generally want the lowest mount without your scope touching your barrel.
All PFI scopes are delivered with medium height scope rings for easy and precise mounting.
Q2: Why is a BDC reticle the best choice?
A: A BDC reticle is designed to compensate for bullet drop. Bullet drop is the force of gravity on the bullet after it leaves your barrel before it hits the target.
Without this compensation at long distances, even a shot that looks precisely on target will end up low because of bullet drop. A BDC reticle is best for ensuring accuracy at longer distances.
Q3: What size objective lens do I need?
A: A diameter of 40mm is sufficient for most lighting conditions. The quality of your scope matters when determining this as well.
A higher-quality scope can provide the same quality with a smaller objective lens than a lower-quality scope.
